At the IAA Transportation 2026 exhibition, MAN Truck & Bus is presenting a series of new solutions for its truck lineups with a primary focus on efficiency, availability, and safety. A central element of the efficiency offensive is the upgraded MAN EfficientCruise GPS cruise control system featuring PredictiveDrive, which is available across all truck model ranges from TGL to TGX for both internal combustion and electric powertrains. Utilizing high-resolution 3D maps, the GPS-supported system maps the route up to three kilometers ahead, selecting the optimal driving and shifting strategy. It factors in inclines, declines, route layout, and infrastructure, automatically slowing down before roundabouts, intersections, and speed limits using continuous braking, recuperation, or service brakes, before accelerating back to the permitted speed. This system enables fuel or energy savings of around 5 percent, and up to 9 percent in challenging topography. According to Frederik Zohm, Executive Board Member for Research and Development at MAN Truck & Bus, every saved liter of fuel counts for both customer profitability and CO2 reduction, with Model Year 2026 trucks becoming even more efficient through intelligent features like PredictiveDrive alongside new assistance systems for enhanced safety.

To boost operational availability, MAN is introducing automatic Over-the-Air map updates via Connected Maps, eliminating workshop visits for map updates and ensuring traffic sign recognition and PredictiveDrive operate at peak performance. For battery-electric vehicles, MAN Charge&Go is expanding with 50 additional charging locations across Europe, including in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Portugal, offering pre-negotiated conditions, central monthly billing, real-time tracking, and integration into the RIO Fleet Monitor and MAN Driver App. For diesel vehicles, a new electronic and mechanical fuel theft protection system continuously monitors tank levels, detects tampering early, and triggers visual and acoustic alarms. Furthermore, MAN is adding a new electronic trailer stability brake to enhance driving stability for articulated vehicles on unpaved terrain.

For improved traffic safety for drivers and other road users for Model Year 2026, MAN is expanding its portfolio of driver assistance systems. The latest generation of the MAN Emergency Brake Assist EBA Advanced complies with legal requirements that only take effect starting in September 2028, significantly improving the detection of vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. It can intervene automatically up to a full emergency stop to prevent collisions or mitigate accident severity, while also accounting for oncoming vehicles during turning maneuvers and helping prevent side collisions with stationary vehicles extending into the lane.
