BYD‘s upcoming Yangwang flagship sedan, codenamed “Project HU”, has been spotted on transport flatbeds in China, with sources indicating a debut in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, around November 5. The pre-production units are expected to be unveiled at an international showcase, marking a significant milestone for the brand in the Middle East. The Yangwang “HU” is rumored to be approximately 5,500 mm long, with a wheelbase exceeding 3,350 mm, putting it in the same size category as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The sedan features rear-hinged coach doors, an upright grille with split headlamps, and a prominent C-pillar. A roof-mounted LiDAR unit is also visible, confirming laser-sensing hardware, but the final driver-assistance capabilities remain unconfirmed. BYD has not released official dimensions, motor configuration, power output, suspension specification, or curb weight. Pricing estimates suggest the “HU” could cost over 2 million yuan (approximately 299,600 USD), which would position it above the Yangwang U7 and U8L Dingcang Edition in the brand’s lineup. The planned unveiling would give Yangwang an international showcase in a market where BYD already has a distribution presence through Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility.
