GMC has officially pulled the wraps off the 2027 Sierra 1500, giving its best-selling pickup a full redesign inside and out ahead of its late-2026 on-sale date. The new Sierra 1500 borrows styling cues from the Sierra EV, featuring a more vertical grille flanked by updated headlights and trim-specific front-end treatments. Under the hood, buyers will get four powertrain choices: a turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four, a turbocharged 3.0-liter Duramax V6 diesel, a new 5.7-liter V8, and a larger 6.6-liter V8. All engines bolt to a 10-speed automatic transmission. GMC hasn’t released official horsepower or torque figures for the new V8s, but hints the bigger 6.6-liter could land in the mid- to high-400-horsepower bracket. The cabin steps up with up to three articulating screens, including a 16.3-inch infotainment display that slides away to reveal a hidden storage cubby, and an 11.5-inch passenger screen with a sliding cover that can shrink the display. The flagship Denali Ultimate model tops the range with more than 60 inches of total in-cabin screen real estate, a 15.0-inch head-up display, an 8.5-inch digital rearview mirror, and a 16-speaker Bose Premium Series audio system. It also comes standard with a three-year Super Cruise subscription. The AT4X trim gets 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, Multimatic jounce-control dampers, electronic locking differentials front and rear, a 2.9-inch suspension lift, a unique hood, grille insert, and front bumper, plus a flat-bottom steering wheel and enhanced front-seat bolsters. GMC will reveal 2027 Sierra 1500 pricing later in 2026; the current 2026 Sierra starts at $41,095 (including destination), while the AT4X and Denali Ultimate are expected to slot into the mid-$80,000 range, with 2027 prices likely higher.
