Ford has once again etched its name into the history books at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, with the Super Mustang Mach-E securing an overall victory at the 2026 edition of the legendary event. The electric SUV, piloted by six-time Pikes Peak champion Romain Dumas, stormed to the summit in 8:18.202, earning the coveted “King of the Mountain” title. This marks the sixth overall win for Dumas and the second for Ford Racing at the grueling 12.42-mile climb. The Super Mustang Mach-E also dominated the newly introduced Unlimited – Production Based class, which is reserved for extreme competition vehicles that maintain a direct link to production models. The Ford Super Mustang Mach-E was developed in partnership with STARD, leveraging three of the outfit’s UHP 6-Phase motors to deliver 1,400 horsepower to all four wheels.
Its 50 kWh battery pack supports up to 710 kW of regenerative braking, ensuring maximum energy recovery during the descent. The victory comes after the Super Mustang Mach-E received targeted upgrades during the offseason, following its open-class win at Pikes Peak in 2025. “This is an incredible moment for Ford Racing and the team that delivered the Super Mustang Mach-E through a long and challenging development cycle,” said Nick Kuhajda, Program Supervisor, Ford Racing Demonstrators. “Pikes Peak is unlike any circuit in the world. It requires complete focus from the technical team and tremendous bravery from the driver.

Even with a perfect car, weather and track conditions can take the result out of your hands.” Dumas, who has now claimed six Pikes Peak victories, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the razor-thin margins that define success at the event. “I’m really, really happy about this win. We were matching our simulation time or even possibly better, so we squeezed everything out,” he said. “The car was great. Driving Pikes Peak is always a great privilege.
We know how risky the race is, how dangerous the race is and how we always are playing with the limits.” The Super Mustang Mach-E’s triumph at Pikes Peak underscores Ford’s growing dominance in electric vehicle racing, building on its 2024 overall win and qualifying record for the open class with the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck.
