Fiat has officially launched the all-electric Topolino in the United States, positioning it as a stylish alternative to golf carts and low-speed neighborhood vehicles rather than a traditional car. The tiny EV is priced at $13,995 before destination charges and offers up to 46 miles of driving range on a full charge. Its top speed is capped at 19 mph, though Fiat plans to offer a Low Speed Vehicle (LSV) conversion kit by summer 2026 that will raise the maximum speed to 25 mph. This upgrade will allow the Topolino to operate on roads with speed limits of 35 mph or less. Charging takes about five hours using a 2.3-kW AC connection. The Topolino measures 4 feet 7 inches long, 8 feet 3 inches wide, and 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighing just 1,073 pounds. Buyers can choose between the standard Topolino and the open-air Topolino Dolcevita, both featuring Fiat’s Verde Vita paint, vintage-inspired 14-inch wheel covers, LED lighting, and a symmetrical body design. The Dolcevita adds a roll-back soft top, rope-style doors, and unique badging for a beach-town vibe. Inside, the cabin is minimalist, with a digital gauge cluster, storage spaces, a mobile device holder, and a windshield defroster on the standard model. Fiat is also collaborating with Motori & Customs to offer custom editions and bespoke personalization options. The Topolino is designed for coastal communities, resorts, and private neighborhoods where full-size vehicles may feel excessive. Olivier Francois, CEO of the Fiat brand, described the launch as a new chapter for Fiat in America, emphasizing a shift toward purpose-driven transportation over performance. The automaker aims to inject Italian charm into a market dominated by utilitarian low-speed vehicles, but it remains to be seen how many units Fiat can sell.
