Pilot Co. and Tesla Inc. have opened the first two heavy-duty electric truck charging sites in Georgia and California, marking the beginning of a planned network along major U.S. freight corridors. The sites, located in Ellabell, Ga., and Tulare, Calif., feature six and four heavy-duty charging stalls, respectively, each delivering up to 1.2 megawatts of power. This allows a Tesla Semi to recover 60% of its charge in just 30 minutes. The network is expected to expand to other locations, including Fort Stockton, Texas, and North Las Vegas, Nev., with additional sites under construction. The partnership between Pilot and Tesla aims to make fleet electrification more accessible for long-haul transportation. Pilot is investing in transportation energy, including a coast-to-coast passenger electric vehicle charging network and lower-carbon fuels. The company ranks No. 33 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest private carriers in North America.
