Chevrolet is bringing back the Bolt, answering customer demand with a limited run that targets affordability and everyday usability. The 2027 Bolt LT launches at $29,990 including $1,395 destination freight charge, with a later LT starting at $28,995 including destination. GM estimates 255 miles of range. Shipping to customers begins early next year, and availability at Chevrolet dealers starts in the first quarter of 2026. Bolt rejoins the Equinox EV, which Chevy calls one of the market’s best-selling EVs, and together they are expected to account for most of Chevrolet’s 2026 EV volume. Scott Bell, vice president of Global Chevrolet, noted the strong customer loyalty and feedback that prompted the return of the affordable, long-range EV for a limited time.
Headline specs center on value and charging. Peak DC fast-charging exceeds 150 kW, enabling a 10 to 80 percent charge in 26 minutes, and the 2027 Bolt is the first Chevrolet with a native NACS port. An available Super Cruise driver assistance system joins more than 20 standard safety and driver assistance features, including Intersection Collision Mitigation, Rear Automatic Braking, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Braking. Vehicle-to-Home bidirectional capability is included when paired with a GM Energy Home System. Under the skin, the X76 electric drive unit was designed in-house to prioritize efficiency and cost, utilizing a permanent-magnet motor with minimal rare-earth materials, segmented magnets to reduce heat build-up, and a silicon carbide inverter. The Bolt also features blended regenerative braking.

Inside, the cabin features an 11.3-inch diagonal infotainment screen with Google built-in and an 11-inch driver information center. Google Maps integrates range data, smart routing, and battery preconditioning for DC fast charging. Super Cruise syncs with Google Maps for hands-free routes and lane guidance. In-vehicle entertainment apps such as Angry Birds, Chrome, GameSnacks, HBO Max, Tubi, and Prime Video are available while parked or charging. Convenience options include an open console, passenger dash storage, USB-C ports, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, and heated and ventilated front seats.

Styling updates retain the hatchback layout across seven exterior colors and 17-inch wheels in three finishes. A new RS trim adds unique grille badging, high-gloss black wheels and roof rails, and an exclusive Atomic Yellow exterior with red interior accent stitching. The 2027 Chevy Bolt will be assembled with domestically and globally sourced parts at GM’s Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas City, Kansas.
