Chevrolet has given the 2027 Corvette Stingray a fire-breathing new 6.7-litre LS6 V8 that cracks the 200 mph barrier straight from the factory, all for a starting price of $73,495 including destination. The outgoing 6.2-litre LT2 V8 in the 2026 Stingray delivered 490 HP and 465 lb-ft of torque, rocketing the mid-engine coupe to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 124 mph.
The LS6 bumps displacement to 6.7 litres and ups the ante to 535 HP and 520 lb-ft of torque, shaving the 0–60 mph run to 2.8 seconds and slicing the quarter-mile to 11.0 seconds at the same trap speed. Chevrolet’s press release repeatedly cites a top speed of 200 mph but never quotes a higher figure, strongly suggesting the Stingray’s new ceiling is exactly 200 mph.

The base sticker sits at $73,495 with destination, but the Z51 performance package adds $5,395 and brings upgraded brakes that will be welcome at triple-digit speeds. Builders are already taking orders, so if you’ve got the cash—or need to stage that long-overdue family intervention—now’s the time to act.
