A dashcam video shared on Reddit shows a Jeep Grand Cherokee owner making a no-look lane change on Farm Ln in East Lansing, MI, coming within inches of an actual collision. The incident occurred on June 23, 2026, near the intersection with Mt Hope Rd and the MSU Scene Shop. The driver of the vehicle with the dashcam was northbound on Farm Ln when the Jeep Grand Cherokee in the left lane started to change lanes without checking for nearby vehicles. Despite the dashcam owner leaning on their horn, the Jeep Grand Cherokee driver completed the lane change, forcing the other vehicle into the bike lane. The Reddit community reacted with shock and frustration, with one commenter noting that the mentality of ‘I put on my turn signal, which means I now have the right of way and don’t even need to look’ seems to be becoming more common. Under Michigan law, an unsafe or ‘no-look’ lane change would typically be cited as improper lane use or unsafe lane change, with fines ranging from $110 to $130 and 2 points on the driving record if convicted.
