Alfa Romeo has teased a new C-Segment crossover model, which will feature multiple powertrain options, including mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric. The new model will be based on the Stellantis STLA Medium Platform and will be produced in Italy starting in late 2027. This model will slot between the existing Tonale and the upcoming second-generation Stelvio, and will likely bear a new name. The new C-SUV will be designed by Alfa Romeo’s design center in Turin, Italy, and will have a rakish rear end. Production is set to begin at Alfa’s Melfi, Italy plant in the fourth quarter of 2027. The current Giulia and Stelvio will stay in production until 2027, at which point they should finally be up for their much-needed replacements. Alfa Romeo has also teased a Bottega Fuoriserie project built in collaboration with Maserati, which is expected to be some kind of sports car. The company’s decision to introduce a new crossover has raised questions about its ability to survive as a brand, especially in the US, where it needs more than a small crossover to stay relevant.
