A barely disguised combustion-powered SUV flashed across a Stellantis powertrain video could be the first glimpse of Chrysler’s upcoming $40,000 Airflow. The tall, angular crossover—spotted by Mopar Insiders—appears alongside Peugeot and Jeep models in a recently released corporate clip, but Stellantis never names it. Its proportions and timing, however, line up with the production-bound Airflow slated for later this decade.

If it is the Airflow, the design has been flipped on its head compared with the sleek, low-slung Airflow concept from 2022. The new shape is far more upright and practical, with a high roofline, thick rear pillars, a chunky roof spoiler, and a boxy profile that reads more like a Hyundai Ioniq 5 wearing Cadillac’s styling cues than anything traditionally Chrysler. The rear end is especially bold, featuring large segmented taillights that climb almost the full height of the body toward the bumper, while black lower cladding beefs up the stance.
Up front, the face borrows heavily from the refreshed Pacifica: a slim full-width LED light bar spans the grille, incorporating the Chrysler wing badge at its center, and stacked vertical lighting elements flank each corner. Under the skin, a cutaway in the video hints at a transversely mounted combustion engine and front-wheel-drive layout, aligning with Chrysler’s plan to offer combustion, hybrid, AWD, and EV powertrains on the new STLA One platform. The Airflow is confirmed to ride on STLA One and is expected to debut as a 2028 model year vehicle, priced around $40,000.
It will be joined by two smaller crossovers priced below $30,000. Stellantis has not officially confirmed the mystery SUV’s identity or whether its on-screen design matches the final production version.
