At IAA Transportation 2026, MAN is presenting the MAN TGS 60.540 8×4 BB for international markets—a heavy-duty mining tipper with a site-specific approval rating of up to 60 tonnes. Building on the 50-tonne model introduced in 2023 which is already deployed in Latin America and Africa, this new heavy-hitter is engineered to handle brutal open-cast mining conditions. Under the cab sits a 12.4-litre MAN D2676 Euro 6e engine pushing 397 kW (540 HP) and 2,650 Nm of torque, hooked up to a MAN TipMatic 12.28 OD transmission featuring a retarder, MAN TipMatic Offroad driving program, and offroad ABS. To withstand the relentless punishment of daily mining operations, the rig gets reinforced frame and axle-guiding components, dual 10-tonne front axles, a rear axle assembly with 20-tonne trapezoidal leaf spring packs per side, and 325/95 R24 tires mounted on single-piece rims. Its lightweight chassis puts it right into the 40-tonne payload class. At the IAA show, the 60-tonner is displayed as the MAN TGS INDIVIDUAL LION S, sporting a black optics package, roof light bar with double-row LED light bars, and ambient cabin lighting. Initially, the 60-tonner rolls out as a left-hand drive Euro 6 variant heading to Chile and Morocco, with Euro 2 to Euro 5 versions following for Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. Mining operations run 24/7, so MAN backs the truck with a tailored service concept featuring on-site training, guaranteed response times, mobile and container-based workshops, a two-year warranty on MAN Genuine Parts, and a dedicated mining TCO calculator. MAN Truck & Bus Head of Sales Area International Thomas Hemmerich notes that every tonne and hour counts in mining, and this new machine allows customers to haul massive payloads with direct field service support. MAN’s mining history dates back decades, from the 48-tonne F8 in the early 1980s to the 50-tonner shown at the 2023 Trucknology Days. The new 60-tonner expands a vast portfolio covering everything from exploration to site rehabilitation, utilizing TGL, TGM, TGS, TGX, and TGE ranges in configurations from 4×2 to 10×4 across copper, gold, coal, nickel, bauxite, and phosphate mines globally.
