If you’re considering a career in truck driving, it’s essential to understand the difference between a Class A and Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL).
A Class C CDL is the easiest to obtain, allowing you to drive smaller vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,000 pounds or less.
A Class B license enables you to pilot large vehicles with a GVWR in excess of 26,000 pounds, but with a trailer weight limit of 10,000 pounds.

A Class A CDL is the most challenging to obtain and allows you to drive almost any vehicle on the road, with a GVWR of over 26,001 pounds and a trailer weight of over 10,000 pounds.
To get a CDL, you’ll need to pass a background check, complete Entry-Level Driver Training, and pass written and skills tests.
