Pictures of a BYD Flash Charging site in Shenzen, China have been released. The BYD Flash Charging points are capable of charging a vehicle from 10 to 97 per cent in just nine minutes. These mega-fast EV chargers are heading for the UK. BYD’s Flash Charging technology is part of the company’s efforts to expand its presence in the electric vehicle market. The company has also been making headlines with its other initiatives, such as its autonomous car technology and solid-state battery research. However, BYD’s executive vice president, Stella Li, has tempered expectations surrounding solid-state battery tech. In other news, BYD has announced that it will pay out if one of its autonomous cars crashes itself, but only in China. The company is also expanding its lineup with new models, including the BYD Ti7, which is set to take on the Land Rover Defender in the UK market.
