Indian automotive components manufacturer Talbros Automotive Components Ltd (TACL) has finalised a joint venture with Lohum Cleantech Pvt Ltd to produce recovered carbon black (rCB) and devulcanised rubber. The new entity, Lohum Talbros CarbonTech Pvt Ltd, was established on 2 July following board approval in November 2025. Commercial operations are scheduled to begin in July 2026. The partners plan to invest INR200 million (€1.8 million) in equity during the first year, with Talbros holding a 49% stake and contributing INR99.5 million. The venture will focus on India’s first “low-ash rCB” using improved processing technology to deliver differentiated products to customers. According to Talbros, the global market for rCB is valued at approximately $1.8 billion (2.5 million tonnes) with annual growth of around 35%, while the devulcanised rubber market is worth about $3.5 billion (4.2 million tonnes) and growing at roughly 10% per year. The collaboration leverages Talbros’ OEM relationships and manufacturing expertise alongside Lohum’s recycling technology to target both domestic and international markets.
