Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Aerospace has inked a global distribution pact with aerospace distributor Proponent, naming it the worldwide master distributor for aftermarket aircraft interior components from its former Magee Plastics business. The deal was announced at the Farnborough International Airshow on 20 July. Under the agreement, Proponent will handle global distribution of high-performance thermoplastic and composite interior parts originally produced by Magee Plastics, including window shades, sidewall and ceiling panels, passenger service units, cargo panels, seat components, lavatory and galley parts, cockpit equipment, and cabin retrofit systems. Trelleborg acquired Magee Plastics in December 2024, and the Warrendale, Pennsylvania facility now operates within Trelleborg’s aerospace division. The expanded partnership builds on a long-standing relationship between Trelleborg Sealing Solutions and Proponent, aiming to streamline distribution while maintaining product quality and customer service. Gordon Roper, business unit president of global aerospace at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, said the new arrangement ensures customers continue to receive top-tier products and service through a more efficient channel. Beyond interiors, Trelleborg’s aerospace business manufactures airframe seals for aircraft doors, canopies, hatches, and panels, as well as hydraulic, actuation, and engine seals used in flight controls, landing gear, electronic control units (ECUs), auxiliary power units (APUs), and aircraft engines. The company claims to be the world’s largest producer of aerospace window seals.
