The King of Rock and Roll wasn’t just known for his voice, his hips, or his rhinestone jumpsuits — he was also known for shooting things that disappointed him. In early 1969, a gold Cadillac Eldorado convertible became the target of Elvis Presley’s frustration after the car refused to start one day.

Elvis, who had purchased the Topaz Gold Firemist convertible with a black vinyl top in Memphis in December 1967, drew his handgun and fired a round through the right front fender. The 1968 Cadillac Eldorado, a top-tier personal luxury car with a 429-cubic-inch V8 and automatic transmission, absorbed the shot without issue and remained fully drivable.

The bullet hole remains unrepaired to this day, adding to the car’s provenance and value. After Elvis shot the fender, the Eldorado was passed to Priscilla Presley’s stepfather, who occasionally used it but mostly kept it garaged.

It later traveled to Australia, where it was displayed as part of an Elvis Presley exhibition due to its unique history. The car resurfaced for sale in 2014 with full documentation, including the original registration, leaving potential buyers to decide whether its value lies in the Topaz Gold Firemist paint, its rarity, or the bullet hole left by the King himself.
