Tyres Europe has joined a coalition of European industry associations in urging the European Commission to address the remaining flaws and technical constraints in the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) information system. The EUDR information system is a key component of the EUDR framework, intended to support traceability and compliance across supply chains. However, the current limitations, including restrictions on the aggregation of ‘due diligence statements’ and a lack of functionalities for business users, could create additional administrative burdens and operational uncertainty. The industry groups are calling on the Commission to ensure the system is aligned with the legal requirements of the regulation and is operationally workable, stress-tested, and adapted to business practice. A reliable and user-friendly information system will be essential to support compliance with the EUDR while helping to maintain the supply of affected commodities and products to the EU market. The coalition includes various industry associations, such as APAG, Bioenergy Europe, CEI-bois, and Tyres Europe, among others.
