BMW M has pulled the wraps off the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking the world premiere of a new design language that will spearhead the brand’s all-electric future. The concept car is a rolling manifesto for BMW M’s next chapter, blending expressive design with high performance and innovative materials while staying true to the brand’s motorsport DNA. “The new BMW M design language forms the expressive spearhead of the Neue Klasse – determined and purposeful,” says Oliver Heilmer, Head of Design for BMW Compact Class, Neue Klasse and BMW M. “At BMW M, form consistently follows function. Every detail serves performance.” The exterior is a study in muscular proportions and precision, with wide wheel arches, powerful shoulders and a V-shaped bonnet air outlet that channels cooling air for the electric drivetrain. The front end features a forward-facing shark nose, a kidney grille integrated with the headlights, and a light signature with depth effect. BMW M’s new signature lighting elements debut here: M Yellow Lights with yellow icons that reference GT racing and the BMW M Hybrid V8, and three-dimensional Track Lights positioned in the front and rear aprons. The front apron adopts a trimaran-style bumper inspired by high-speed sailing boats, providing structural support for the front splitter. At the rear, the Track Lights frame a floating diffuser topped by a striking ducktail spoiler that improves aerodynamics and increases downforce. Natural fibre elements appear throughout, from the front splitter and bonnet air outlet to the diffuser and a roof graphic with refined M branding. The concept rides on Monza Red metallic paint and red-and-blue coded centre-lock wheels, reinforcing the motorsport link. Inside, the cockpit is stripped back and driver-focused, with four newly developed bucket seats offering secure support in dynamic situations. Upholstery in Bathurst Blue and Berry Red Merino leather pairs with red five-point belts, while high-quality black nubuck leather adorns the steering wheel, door panels and roll bar. The floating dashboard is wrapped in black knit material with M-specific hexagonal backlighting, and red accents on the M gear selector, shift paddles and digital displays underscore the performance focus. Under the skin, the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse introduces the BMW M eDrive drive concept, pairing four electric motors with BMW M Dynamic Performance Control to deliver next-level dynamics, agility and precision. “Even in the new all-electric era, we continue the M-typical tradition of transferring both technological innovations and defining design features directly from motorsport into series production,” says Franciscus van Meel, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW M GmbH.
