Porsche is retiring the Taycan Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo from the United States, but both models will continue to be produced for other markets. A company spokesperson confirmed that the factory in Stuttgart will keep building the more practical versions of the company’s first EV. The Taycan sedan can now achieve a range of over 700 kilometers in Europe, with the rear-wheel-drive model and larger battery pack reaching 435 miles. The Taycan Sport Turismo can travel 417 miles on a single charge. The Taycan is one of Porsche’s oldest models, having launched in 2019, and the company has yet to announce a second generation. Porsche’s new CEO has not ruled out merging the Taycan and Panamera lineups to cut costs. The company plans to keep selling gasoline-powered and hybrid vehicles well into the 2030s. The current-generation Panamera is sold exclusively as a five-door liftback, and Porsche blames the demise of the Taycan Turismo models in the US on weak sales.
