BMW has unveiled the first official images of the all-new i3, set to arrive in 2026 as a fully electric executive saloon. The model is positioned as a direct rival to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Electric, adopting a sleek, coupé-like roofline and a more compact footprint compared to today’s bloated SUVs. Early impressions suggest a taut, agile driving experience, with a focus on sharp handling and a driver-focused cockpit. BMW claims the i3 will deliver a class-leading 559-mile WLTP range and support 400kW ultra-rapid charging, positioning it as a strong contender in the premium EV segment. The design breaks away from BMW’s traditional upright grille, instead featuring a closed front end with slim LED light bars and aerodynamic bodywork. Inside, the cabin is expected to blend minimalist luxury with cutting-edge digital displays, though full interior details remain under wraps. The i3 is expected to slot into BMW’s lineup as a sportier, more efficient alternative to the outgoing i4, with deliveries slated to begin in 2026.
