Belgian rider Jelle Verstaen broke the Guinness World Record for the longest single‑charge electric motorcycle journey, covering 436.5 km (271.2 mi) on a Zero DS equipped with the optional Power Tank, which adds a 19.2 kWh battery. The record surpassed the previous 310.7 km (193 mi) mark by more than 125 km (78 mi).
Verstaen started high in the French Alps and rode toward the Mediterranean, maintaining an average speed of about 52 km/h (32 mph) to minimise aerodynamic drag. The 24‑hour run included night‑time sections to avoid traffic and a final 100 km (62 mi) of heavy rain.
Two other Zero riders joined the attempt: a Zero SR/S that travelled 350 km (217 mi) and a DSR/X that reached 384 km (239 mi). The ride was GPS‑tracked and independently witnessed for Guinness verification.

While the route’s net downhill profile and low cruising speed helped the DS achieve its distance, the feat demonstrates the efficiency of production electric motorcycles with less than 20 kWh of battery.
