MotoGP has launched the new MotoGP Academy, a development structure aimed at promoting the sport globally and increasing accessibility to motorcycle racing. Previously, the organization faced criticism for incentivizing Moto2 and Moto3 teams to hire riders from countries other than Spain and Italy. Instead of lowering grid quality for the sake of diversity, a grassroots approach is now being taken through this new academy system. The MotoGP Academy seal will be granted to racing schools and institutions worldwide that maintain high standards both on and off the track. This creates a global network of elite racing schools, especially in underserved regions. To earn a spot in this network, partners must meet rigorous requirements covering infrastructure, training methodology, technical execution, and brand visibility. MotoGP will invest directly in the success of each branch by providing tailored toolkits, activation support, branding, and exclusive discounts on MotoGP products. Academies will bear the name of their nation, region, or continent, following the FIM MotoMini World Series model. Larger nations may have multiple academies, while others will feature a single national hub, focusing heavily on key markets and growth areas like Asia, Latin America, and North America. However, specific financial commitments and budget details regarding how much MotoGP will spend in each region have not been specified.
