When owners discussed what they would upgrade to after a Honda CR-V Hybrid on Reddit, the answers varied widely from staying loyal to the brand to jumping ship over reliability concerns. While author Tim Healey noted that some owners consider the CR-V Hybrid to be the ultimate destination rather than a stepping stone, others have different plans. One owner who purchased a 2025 model in March 2026 with 10,500 miles planned to keep it for 15 years, but now intends to sell it at the 10-year mark due to Honda’s extended head gasket coverage, which runs for 10 years or 150,000 miles on 2020 to 2026 CR-V Hybrids. That owner plans to switch to a Toyota Camry Hybrid or a Lexus ES 350h for better fuel economy without losing comfort, noting they do not need the space of an SUV since they are a couple without kids and a medium-sized dog. Other owners expressed interest in upgrading to a larger Honda, specifically wishing for a hybrid Passport with decent fuel economy, while others eyed luxury vehicles, a Lexus, a Rivian R2, or a Scout featuring a generator in the back for a 500-mile range. Some owners plan to keep their CR-V Hybrids for a long time, while others are keeping their options open for future releases.
