Geely is setting its sights on the UK market with an ambitious target of 46,000 sales by 2027, backed by an expanding lineup and a major fleet push. According to Alan Barrett, the brand’s head of fleet and used car sales, Geely aims to more than double its sales next year. The current UK line-up includes the EX5 electric SUV, Starray PHEV SUV, and EX2 electric supermini, operating out of a UK headquarters in Coventry with a network of 100 dealers. Geely expects to sell 20,000 cars in the UK by the end of the year, with 6000 going into end-user fleets. The brand has secured high-volume deals with salary sacrifice providers Tusker and Octopus, and is set to become available through the Government Commercial Agency. By 2027, the lineup will double from three to six models with the addition of the Monjaro PHEV SUV, a high-performance electric fastback expected to be the Galaxy E8, and a product derived from the KO11 PHEV luxury SUV shown at the Paris motor show. Fleet and retail volume will each account for roughly 50% of the total, supported by a doubled fleet team and an imminent approved used car scheme.
