The 2027 Toyota Corolla Cross arrives this fall in the United States, offering a compact‑SUV package that balances everyday practicality with a touch of sportiness. Built on Toyota’s TNGA‑C platform and assembled in Huntsville, Alabama, the model line‑up now features two hybrid grades—SE and XSE—after dropping the S grade, while the gas‑powered range keeps the L, LE and XLE trims.
The 2.0‑liter, 169‑horsepower four‑cylinder engine powers the gas models, which can be ordered with either front‑wheel drive (FWD) or Dynamic Torque Control all‑wheel drive (AWD). The AWD version can send up to 50 % of power to the rear wheels when needed, and disengages completely when not required, helping to preserve fuel economy.

The hybrid variants pair Toyota’s hybrid system with a standard all‑wheel‑drive (e‑AWD) setup that uses a high‑output interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor to drive the rear wheels, pre‑emptively distributing torque to reduce front‑wheel slip and improve cornering agility. Both powertrains share a 10.5‑inch Toyota Audio multimedia touchscreen, wireless Qi charging, and a 12.3‑inch digital gauge cluster.

The cabin is designed for comfort and usability, featuring an intuitive cockpit, 60/40 rear‑seat folding, and ample storage. Fuel economy figures are impressive: the hybrid grades achieve 46/39/42 city/highway/combined miles per gallon, while the gas AWD model is rated 29/31/30 and the FWD model 30/32/31.

Towing capacity tops out at 1,500 pounds for both FWD and AWD configurations. Pricing starts at $25,535 for the L FWD gas grade and $31,415 for the SE hybrid grade, excluding dealer processing and handling fees.
The Corolla Cross continues to offer a blend of style—distinct grille designs for gas and hybrid models, optional two‑tone paint, LED lighting, and varied wheel treatments—alongside practical features that make it a compelling choice for daily commutes and weekend adventures alike.
