Audi has released a video showcasing the Nuvolari, a plug-in hybrid supercar, being tested at the Nardò proving ground in Italy.

The Nuvolari boasts a 987 HP powertrain, consisting of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, a 7.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and three axial flux motors.

This enables the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of over 217 mph.

The supercar features an active rear wing with three positions, which can generate over 882 lbs of downforce and functions as an air brake. Audi will produce only 499 units of the Nuvolari, with a potential Spyder variant to follow.
