The handcrafted Shoei RF-1500 arrives as the successor to the RF-1400, following a lineage that dates back to the RF-101 introduced in 1984, followed by the RF-1000 in 2004, RF-1100 in 2010, RF-1200 in 2014, and RF-1400 in 2021.
Shoei states that building the helmet involves 65 workers, 26 steps, 5 layers of paint, and 11 inspections.

Built for street, touring, and sport riding, the RF-1500 features a shell made of six layers of fiberglass and organic fibers paired with a multi-density EPS liner.
Shell thickness and EPS construction were updated in key areas, alongside a multi-faceted chinbar design with no lower shell cut lines.

On the Ultimate Motorcycling Official Postal Scale, an L size helmet weighs 3 pounds 13.5 ounces, or 1750 grams.
The interior features a corduroy-like material extending around the circumference of the head to aid air circulation, while the cheek pads and chin strap utilize the 3D Max-Dry Interior System II.

The helmet is offered in sizes XS through 3XL, utilizing six shell sizes where only XS and S share a shell, while M, L, XL, 2XL, and 3XL each have their own dedicated shell size. Shoei also offers a Personal Fitting System through certified dealers for center pad customization.
Styling, vents, and aerodynamics feature wing-shaped chin vents that tilt open from the top, positioned on either side of the faceshield lock release button.
A two-position top vent is integrated into a rectangular recess, flowing into a rear spoiler with a built-in exhaust vent.

Shoei claims a 90% increase in airflow through the top vent and 40% more through the chin vents compared to the RF-1400, along with a 13% reduction in lift and a 3% reduction in drag.
The helmet utilizes the CWR-F2 faceshield shared with the RF-1400 and X-Fifteen, which provides 99% UV protection and includes a Pinlock Evo anti-fog lens and a center shield lock button. The faceshield supports a micro-detent city position that stays open at highway speeds.
For communications, the helmet includes Comlink speaker pockets, wire routing, and a chinbar cutout for a proprietary-style microphone, with a dedicated communicator developed with Sena expected in early 2027.

Certification includes Snell M2025D and exceeds DOT standards, complete with an emergency quick-release cheek pad system. Solid colors are priced at $700 MSRP, graphics at $800, and replicas at $850.

Available solid colors include Basalt Grey, Black, Chalk Grey, Matte Black, Matte Radiant Blue, Shine Red, and White.
Graphics options include Burnside (TC-1, TC-3, TC-5, TC-10), Dedicated 3 (TC-5, TC-10), Diggia, and Echo TC-3, along with Kaboom (TC-5, TC-10).
