Fabrizio Giugiaro, the designer behind the original Lamborghini Gallardo concept, has teamed up with CAVËN Atelier to create a limited-production restomod called the Hommage 26. Revealed as the first project in the brand’s Designer Series at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas, the Hommage 26 uses a Gallardo donor vehicle and injects modern engineering, materials, and technology into the early 2000s supercar.

While the production Gallardo was finalized by Luc Donckerwolke, its lineage traces back to Italdesign’s 1995 Calà concept and Giugiaro’s early 1998 design. The new Hommage 26 features a heavily revised exterior crafted predominantly from carbon fiber, sporting new body panels, pop-down headlight units, 20-inch alloy wheels, modern LED taillights, dual active rear spoilers, and dual exhaust pipes positioned above a body-colored diffuser. A standout visual element is the direct connection between the headlights and front bumper intakes, a styling cue that was technically impossible when the original car was developed.

Inside, the cabin retains a familiar layout to the donor car but receives subtle enhancements, including Alcantara dashboard upholstery, a roll-down rear window to better capture the V10 exhaust note, and hexagon motifs on the door cards accented with red stitching.

Beneath the carbon skin, CAVËN Atelier has upgraded the naturally aspirated V10 powertrain. According to Classic Driver, the engine will be offered in two power tiers, kicking out 540 and 560 horsepower—outperforming the original Gallardo’s 493 HP, though trailing the electrified Temerario’s 907 HP. Purists will appreciate that the V10 is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, a transmission configuration absent from the Gallardo’s successors, the Huracan and Temerario.

CAVËN Atelier plans to build just 25 examples of the Hommage 26. Pricing starts at €900,000 ($1,008,800) not including the donor car, which itself can range from around $75,000 to over $500,000 based on condition, potentially pushing total costs up to $1.5 million. The company emphasizes that despite the exclusive production run and steep price tag, these cars are built to be driven rather than locked away in static collections. Additional projects featuring original designers revisiting late ’90s and early ’00s models are already in development.
