Bandit9 is back with its latest wild creation: the (RED) 800, a $49,900 custom motorcycle built in collaboration with the nonprofit organization (RED). Following up on its earlier Ducati Monster 821 project announced in July 2025, the Vietnam-based custom shop plans to build just nine examples of this striking machine, which features a red-to-brushed-aluminum finish and sci-fi bodywork.
Beneath the futuristic exterior lies a standard Ducati 821cc Testastretta V-twin engine pumping out a claimed 110 horsepower and 65.8 pound-feet of torque. Bandit9 lists a dry weight of 386 pounds, a top speed of 125 miles per hour, and a zero-to-60 sprint of 3.3 seconds. Hardware includes Sachs suspension, Brembo brakes with ABS, and a custom trellis frame.
Despite Bandit9’s decade-long track record of building custom machines, the ordering process comes with notable hurdles. The shop requires a nonrefundable 50-percent deposit of $24,950 upfront, with build times estimated between eight and twelve months. Crucially, Bandit9 explicitly states that road registration and regulatory compliance are not guaranteed, meaning buyers might face hurdles getting their bikes street-legal.
On the philanthropic side, Bandit9 pledges $14,000 from every sale to (RED), which supports the fight against AIDS and other preventable diseases, aiming to raise $126,000 if all nine units sell. While Bandit9 has a proven history rather than being an AI-generated startup, the lack of guaranteed road registration for a nearly $50,000 machine leaves open questions about everyday practicality.
