Emta, a joint venture between Chery Automobile and other companies, has revealed its first model, an electric K-car, in patent filings.
The microcar features a tall, boxy design with a ‘softroader’ variant, which includes extensive plastic cladding and a new front bumper design.

The K-car’s exterior has undergone significant tweaks from the initial concept car, with a more practical approach and traditional door handles.
The vehicle also features a light bar that echoes the front lighting elements and a customizable LED sign or painted panel on the rear.

Emta plans to launch the K-car in Japan in 2027, rivaling Nissan and Suzuki’s EV Kei offerings and BYD‘s Racco.
The company has three more models in the pipeline, including a hatchback, an SUV, and an MPV, and plans to manufacture cars locally in Japan after 2030.
