Dutch ultra-lightweight sports car manufacturer Donkervoort has expanded the global reach of its latest P24 RS model by introducing a right-hand drive (RHD) variant. The P24 RS, which debuted in January, is the first Donkervoort to feature a Ford powertrain—the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine—marking a significant departure from the brand’s traditional Audi four-cylinder engines. The car remains true to Donkervoort’s philosophy of minimalism and driver engagement, stripping away modern driver aids such as power steering, electronic traction control, skid control, torque vectoring, and automatic brake assist to keep weight down to just over 2,200 pounds.
The RHD version of the P24 RS will be sold in markets where left-hand drive is not standard, including the United Kingdom, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand. This marks the first time Donkervoort has offered a right-hand drive model in its 49-year history. The car delivers 600 horsepower, though owners can opt to dial it down to 400 or 500 horsepower via the PTC (Power To Choose) system. The P24 RS’s starting price is €298,000 (approximately $354,000), and production is strictly limited to 150 units globally.
Denis Donkervoort, Managing Director of Donkervoort, emphasized the brand’s commitment to raw driving experiences, stating, “We are excited that we can finally show car lovers in RHD markets what Europe, the Middle East and North America have understood for a long time—that Donkervoorts prioritize driver engagement over everything else, making every drive an unforgettable event.” The introduction of the RHD variant follows strong demand from customers in regions where right-hand drive is the norm, and the PTC engine platform made the transition feasible.
The P24 RS’s lack of modern driver aids is intentional, aligning with Donkervoort’s focus on analog driving dynamics. The car’s lightweight construction and high power-to-weight ratio ensure an exhilarating experience, though its exclusivity and price point place it firmly in the realm of ultra-luxury sports cars.
