Lear Corporation has been named Ford’s 2026 Supplier of the Year in the Sustainability category, recognizing its “outstanding performance, dedication, and collaboration” over the past year. The award was presented at Ford’s recent supplier event in Detroit, Michigan, where both companies were represented. Lear, a major supplier of seating and E-systems, secured the contract to provide seats for Ford’s next-generation Super Duty lineup, replacing France-based Forvia as the current supplier. This contract is reported to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars, marking a significant win for Lear in a highly competitive market. The supplier’s recent innovations, including a new technology center in Rochester Hills—a Detroit suburb—have bolstered its reputation, particularly for its automation and modularity processes. Lear President and CEO Ray Scott called the award “a tremendous honor,” emphasizing the company’s global efforts to drive sustainability across products, operations, and supply chains. Ford’s Chief Supply Chain Officer, Liz Door, highlighted the Supplier Awards & Summit as a key platform to celebrate partners who help deliver iconic vehicles and services. She underscored Ford’s commitment to strengthening collaborations with suppliers to unlock efficiencies and compete more effectively together.
