Jeremy Clarkson, the iconic former host of the BBC’s Top Gear, has revealed he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. Speaking during the season five finale of his Amazon Prime Video show Clarkson’s Farm, the 66-year-old British presenter disclosed that he received the diagnosis in May 2025 after a biopsy confirmed the cancer’s aggressiveness.

He noted that the disease had affected 10% of his prostate gland but emphasized that it was detected early. Clarkson underwent surgery to remove the cancerous tissue, following a heart procedure just eight months prior to address blocked coronary arteries.

Despite his past criticism of the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), Clarkson praised the care he received post-surgery, calling the medical staff “kind” and the facilities “spotless.” He also shared that lunch at the hospital was “kids’ food—brilliant,” and joked that the NHS even made him better. Clarkson’s health struggles come after a tumultuous period in his career, including his 2015 departure from Top Gear following a widely publicized incident involving a producer, which resulted in a £100,000 settlement for racial discrimination and injury claims.
Since then, Clarkson, along with former co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond, has continued their automotive adventures on Amazon Prime Video with The Grand Tour. Known for his sharp wit and unfiltered opinions, Clarkson has also used his platform to urge men over 45 to prioritize prostate cancer screenings, citing his own experience and the loss of friends to the disease.

His candid announcement has drawn widespread support, with many fans and colleagues expressing hope for his full recovery.
