CFMoto has made its premier-class motorcycle racing ambitions official by confirming plans to enter MotoGP, backed by the establishment of a new racing department in Rimini, Italy. Located in the Emilia-Romagna region near Ducati‘s home turf in Bologna, the facility operates alongside the brand’s current R&D industrial design team. Samantha Liu, general manager of CFMoto’s Motorsports Management Centre, stated that the Italian technology center will support multiple racing programs while building the brand’s understanding of technology and testing for the highest class. CFMoto currently competes in Moto3 and Moto2, and starting next year, it will serve as the exclusive motorcycle supplier for the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR). The brand is also preparing to launch the V4 SR-RR. While all five MotoGP manufacturers are locked into a commercial agreement until 2031, CFMoto is preparing for the long haul as it weighs its entry timing around the upcoming 2027 regulation changes and new 850cc era.
