Ducati India has launched the new Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP as a direct replacement for the discontinued Hypermotard 950. Prices start at Rs 16.53 lakh (ex-showroom) for the standard variant, while the higher-spec SP variant carries a price tag of Rs 20.78 lakh (ex-showroom), creating a price delta of Rs 4.25 lakh. Bookings are open and deliveries are slated to begin soon. Replacing the previous 937cc Testastretta setup, the new motorcycle packs an 890cc V-Twin engine borrowed from newer Ducatis, delivering 120.4 bhp and 94 Nm of torque, which is the highest power output for this engine platform.

It also features a new monocoque chassis and borrows electronics and rider aids from the larger Panigale V4. The standard variant is finished in Ducati Red and tips the scales at a kerb weight of 180 kg. It is equipped with fully adjustable 46mm KYB USD front forks with 170 mm of travel and a preload and rebound-adjustable rear mono-shock with 160 mm of travel. Stopping power comes from Brembo M4.32 calipers clamping down on twin front rotors.
Standard equipment includes a 5-inch TFT cluster, a bi-directional quickshifter, and selectable riding modes, while the factory rubber is upgraded from Pirelli Diablo Rosso III to Diablo Rosso IV. Moving up to the Hypermotard V2 SP brings a dedicated SP livery, sophisticated Öhlins suspension front and rear, and stickier Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres. The SP model also sheds 3 kg, bringing its kerb weight down to 177 kg. Commenting on the launch, Mr.

Bipul Chandra, Managing Director of Ducati India, stated that the motorcycle is engineered to deliver supermotard agility, a new V2 engine, a lightweight monocoque chassis, and advanced electronics for an adrenaline-fueled experience.
