Kawasaki’s New Entry-Level Adventure Bike Targets Honda and KTM

Kawasaki is expanding its lineup with the introduction of the 2027 KLX300 XPL ABS, transforming its familiar dual-sport platform into a compact adventure motorcycle. Priced at $6,499, the XPL features a 292cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, a taller windshield, hand guards, a rear luggage rack, and adventure-inspired styling. Additional updates include smartphone connectivity and switchable front-wheel ABS. The bike maintains its 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, long-travel suspension, and narrow proportions, while carrying a 2.0-gallon fuel tank. At this price point, it competes directly with the Honda CRF300L Rally and sits below the KTM 390 Adventure R, which is priced at $7,699 and powered by a 399cc engine.
