Genesis is giving its six-year-old GV70 a hybrid makeover, blending sharper styling cues with a new electrified powertrain.
Spy shots from the Nürburgring reveal a prototype testing a performance-focused hybrid variant, sporting a revised grille that mirrors the diamond-mesh design introduced on the facelifted G80 and GV80.
The front bumper appears to carry over from existing Sport trims, but extensive camouflage suggests deeper underbody tweaks.

The prototype rides on lightweight wheels paired with red-caliper brakes, and a hidden dual-exhaust system hints at extra performance.

Inside, the camouflaged cabin hides details, but Genesis may swap the current 27-inch display for a Hyundai Pleos Connect infotainment system.
The hybrid system is expected to borrow from Hyundai Motor Group’s recent 2.5-liter turbo hybrid setup, as seen in the Palisade and Telluride.

That setup combines a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with a 1.65 kWh battery, a six-speed automatic, and integrated electric motors, producing 329 HP (245 kW / 334 PS) and 339 lb-ft (459 Nm) of torque.
Genesis could tune this powertrain for more output in the GV70, though the current lineup already includes a 300 HP turbo-4 and a 375 HP twin-turbo V6.
The refreshed GV70 Hybrid is slated to arrive next year, marking a significant step in Genesis’s push toward electrification.
