This Pink 1997 BMW Z3 Signed by Sydney Sweeney Is Up for Sale — But You Better Fit Behind the Wheel

A one-of-a-kind 1997 BMW Z3 roadster, painted a head-turning pink and personally signed by Sydney Sweeney, is now on the market — and it comes with a catch. The car was part of a promotional giveaway tied to the film “Christy,” where Sweeney starred as real-life boxer Christy Martin.

Any ticket buyer for the movie’s first two weeks at the Regal Cinemas box office was automatically entered to win. The winner, a tall man from Michigan, quickly realized the Z3’s compact roadster dimensions weren’t made for him.

After a few months of ownership and one attempt to drive it, he decided to part ways with the car. Now, the signed Z3 is up for grabs on Cars & Bids, offering someone else the chance to own a piece of Hollywood and motorsport history.

The car was originally white in the film but was repainted pink, possibly to match Christy Martin’s signature ring attire. It shows minor wear from filming, with Sweeney’s signature prominently displayed on the dashboard.

Inside, the Oregon leather interior is broken in after 20 years and over 65,000 miles, and it’s fitted with an automatic transmission. The 1.9-liter inline-four engine runs fine, though the listing notes the airbag light is illuminated — a common quirk in older cars.

The auction package also includes a signed poster featuring Sweeney, Christy Martin, director David Michôd, and Katy O’Brian. The Z3 isn’t just a movie prop; it’s a piece of BMW history.

Produced in the U.S. at BMW’s South Carolina plant, the Z3 was a global hit after its 1996 debut, especially for its role as Pierce Brosnan’s Bond car in “GoldenEye.” Even after 30 years, it remains a fun, accessible alternative to modern roadsters like the Mazda MX-5 or Porsche Boxster, with strong collector appeal.
