Kia America has delivered a blockbuster June, posting its best-ever monthly sales and setting a new all-time record for first-half deliveries. Total June sales jumped 10.4% year-over-year to 70,507 units, while year-to-date sales surged 3.4% to 430,727 units. The surge was powered by a red-hot hybrid lineup, with eco-friendly models soaring 187% compared to the same month last year. The Sportage Hybrid led the charge, up 165%, followed by the Sorento Hybrid at 145% and the Carnival Hybrid at 54%. High gas prices pushed buyers toward hybrids, helping Kia phase out the Soul without losing overall momentum. The Sportage remained the top seller in June with 15,995 units sold, a 26.6% increase, while the redesigned Telluride followed closely with 11,432 units, up 23.7%. The K4 rounded out the podium with 10,553 sales, though it was the only top-three model to see a decline, down 8.7%. The K5 bucked the trend with a 13.6% increase to 6,378 units. EVs showed mixed results: the EV6 fell 15.3% to 584 units, while the EV9 surged 42.3% to 1,299 units. Over the first six months, the Sportage led with 94,907 units, followed by the Telluride (73,602) and K4 (73,579). The Sorento (49,348) and Carnival (40,068) rounded out the top five. The minivan segment showed surprising strength, with the Carnival up 34.4% in June and 20.9% year-to-date. Kia America’s vice president of sales, Eric Watson, credited the results to a strategic showroom reset, balancing ICE, hybrid, and electrified models. Looking ahead, Kia expects continued momentum in the second half, driven by the all-new Seltos (full-scale sales begin nationwide in July), the upcoming 2027 Telluride, expanded hybrid lineup, and the launch of the all-new EV3.
