Hyundai is recalling 96,310 Tucsons in the United States due to a software logic fault that can cause the dash gauges to blank out mid-drive, affecting the speedometer and head-up display.

The issue affects 2025-2026 models of the Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, and Tucson Plug-In Hybrid, with 53,886 examples of the Tucson Hybrid alone impacted.

The recall is due to a communication error between the cluster and the head-up display, triggered by a software logic problem, which prevents important information, including the speedometer and fuel gauge, from being displayed, making the vehicles non-compliant with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of accidents or injuries triggered by the display going blank.

Dealerships and owners will be notified of the recall on August 22, and owners can either take their Tucson to a local dealership for a software update or install the new software from home through Hyundai Bluelink if they have opted in to receive over-the-air updates.
