MG is rolling into the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed with two fresh concept cars, one of which is a subcompact electric hatchback destined for production in 2027. The unnamed EV is MG’s answer to Europe’s B-segment electric hatchback wars, lining up against the Renault 5 E-Tech, Nissan Micra, VW ID. Polo, Cupra Raval, Mini Cooper Electric, and Peugeot E-208. The concept previews a rounded, grille-less nose with headlights that tilt toward cuteness over aggression, the MG badge perched on the C-pillar, and a sporty tail featuring modern LEDs and a large roof spoiler. The second concept is billed as an “electric design vision” that will evolve into an aspirational upcoming model to expand MG’s lineup. Alongside the concepts, MG’s Goodwood stand will showcase production models including the MGS9 PHEV, MG4 EV, ZS Hybrid, HS PHEV, Cyberster, and the IM5 sedan from last year. The MGS9 PHEV, MGS6 EV, and Cyberster will also tackle the Goodwood hill climb. The automaker, owned by SAIC and trading on its British heritage, promises an interactive robot display to entertain crowds. MG Global Design Vice President Jozef Kaban will unveil the concepts at the festival premiere on July 9.
