Chinese EV giant BYD is rolling out a bold new policy: it will cover all economic losses if a crash occurs while drivers are using its Urban Navigate on Autopilot (Urban NOA) or Intelligent Parking systems — but only for one year and only if the owner is using the system correctly. The coverage is part of BYD’s expanded “God’s Eye 5.0” advanced driver-assistance suite, which now includes full damage reimbursement for legally liable accidents tied to Urban NOA operation under compliance with local regulations. This makes BYD the first automaker globally to offer dual coverage for two advanced driving assistance systems, building on its earlier Intelligent Parking protection. The guarantee applies to new buyers and existing owners who upgrade to God’s Eye 5.0 in the Chinese market. Behind the move is BYD’s vast real-world data operation: the company says it operates a fleet of over 3.15 million intelligent vehicles that log more than 124 million miles (200 million km) daily, feeding a continuous cycle of algorithmic learning and system refinement. At the same time, BYD unveiled a major upgrade to its God’s Eye autonomous driving platform, shifting to an industry-first satellite sensor architecture. The system now integrates an upgraded physical AI large model and a self-evolving data flywheel trained on massive real-world scenarios. The headline hardware reveal was the Xuanji A3 — China’s first 4nm automotive-grade driving system-on-chip. Designed for L3 and L4 autonomous driving, the Xuanji A3 delivers over 2,100 TOPS of computing power in a three-chip configuration and promises 20% lower energy consumption than comparable solutions. It’s already in production. BYD also confirmed that its entire lineup can now be equipped with the God’s Eye LiDAR system, and introduced the DiLink AI Intelligent Cockpit, billed as a hyper-realistic digital assistant with proactive task execution and deep reasoning capabilities.
