Nissan has embedded five heritage-inspired design cues into the 2027 Z, rewarding long-time fans of the iconic sports car. The most striking update is a split grille at the front, designed to mirror the original S30-generation 240Z’s iconic face. Nissan retained the cooling performance of the previous grille while adding a horizontal bar for a stronger retro link. The front badge has also been swapped for a standalone Z emblem, a nod to generations like the S30, S130, Z31, and Z32. Performance models roll on new 19-inch RAYS alloy wheels with a ten-spoke star-like pattern, inspired by the Z31 300ZX’s 1980s wheels and designed to show off the large brake package behind them. Color choices join the retro theme: Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic is a modern take on Grand Prix Green from the original 240Z, using ultra-fine yellow and blue pigments to resist fading while keeping the deep green hue. Inside, buyers can opt for a tan interior inspired by the S30. Sport and Performance trims feature a new digital gauge cluster startup animation that cycles through previous Z generations before settling into normal operation. While these changes don’t improve outright performance, they deepen the connection to the Z’s storied past, making the 2027 model a richer experience for enthusiasts who know the lineage.
