2027 Land Rover Discovery drops turbo four, debuts new Landmark Edition

Land Rover has launched the 2027 Discovery, marking the end of an era for the fifth-generation SUV with a new Landmark Edition that celebrates the model’s heritage.

The entry-level S trim now ditches the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, replacing it with a standard turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six Ingenium engine producing 355 HP (265 kW / 360 PS).

This powertrain propels the SUV from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 6.2 seconds, with a top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h).

The Landmark Edition slots between the S and Tempest trims, offering a unique Tasman Blue paint finish inspired by the original Clearwater Blue.

It also features Carpathian Grey skid plates, Graphite Atlas grille accents, fender vents, and badging, along with 21-inch Dark Agate Grey alloy wheels.

Inside, the Landmark Edition includes puddle lights projecting a Mountain graphic, Tech Velour door panels, a panoramic sunroof, and a center console refrigerator.

Standard equipment includes air suspension, a black contrast roof, a power liftgate, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 11.4-inch infotainment system, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a wireless smartphone charger, a four-zone climate control system, and an 11-speaker Meridian audio system.

Safety tech includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Emergency Braking. The Landmark Edition starts at $70,800.

The S trim begins at $64,900, while the range-topping Tempest starts at $84,300 and offers minor updates like a new Borasco Grey paint option and upgraded upholstery with massaging front seats featuring a driver memory function.
