2027 Yamaha WR450F First Look: 11 Fast Facts; 24 Photos

Yamaha has revamped its WR450F enduro bike for 2027, boasting a new engine, frame, shock, hydraulic clutch, and rear brake. The updates aim to enhance low- and midrange power and control on the trail.

The 2027 WR450F features the latest YZ450F engine, tuned for improved throttle control and reduced stalling at low speeds.

A revised intake port and cam timing contribute to a more linear power delivery, while a heavier AC magneto rotor smooths out torque at low rpm. The bike also receives a new air filter assembly, revised throttle, and a larger rear sprocket.

The aluminum bilateral beam chassis is new, shared with the 2027 YZ450F, and features a revised front downtube for improved stability and front-end feel. Geometry changes include a 1-degree increase in rake and a 0.5-inch increase in trail.

The KYB shock features a hand-operated low-speed compression adjuster, while the KYB fork boasts more progressive settings.

The WR450F also inherits the YZ450F’s hydraulic clutch, which engages smoothly and consistently, requiring less effort. The rear brake is smaller and lighter, with a 220mm disc and a revised caliper.

Dunlop Geomax AT82 tires replace the previous Geomax MX33 rubber, offering a bidirectional tread pattern for a wide range of terrain. The bike features a new honeycomb-pattern seat cover, sharper rear fender, and revised graphics.

The Power Tuner app and an optional ECU kit allow riders to adjust the WR450F, with features including three-level traction control, a lap timer, and suspension tuning guides.

The WR450F’s trail equipment returns, including the electric starter, lithium-ion battery, and five-speed wide-ratio transmission. The bike’s wet weight is 256 pounds, with a 37.6-inch seat height.

The 2027 WR450F will arrive at dealers in October, priced at $10,499 MSRP, $200 more than the 2026 model.
