Insta360 X6 8K 360 Camera First Look: 16 Fast Facts

The Insta360 X6 is the new flagship of the company’s X-series 360 cameras, consolidating equipment that previously required separate purchases into a single body. It’s not replacing the X5, which stays in the lineup. Pricing starts at $700 MSRP for the Standard Bundle, with a Motorcycle Bundle at $770.

The X6 uses larger image sensors than the X5, with a pair of custom 1/1.1-inch square Sony sensors, providing 33% more sensor area and roughly four times the light per frame.

Maximum resolution is 8K at 50 fps in 360 mode, with the camera also shooting 6K at up to 60 fps and 4K at up to 100 fps. The X6 shoots in three modes: 360 mode, InstaFrame 2.0, and single-lens mode. It features FlowState stabilization, 360 Horizon Lock, and a new low-light mode.

The camera records Dolby Vision in-camera, with a new microphone tuned for motorcycles, and pairs with helmet Bluetooth headsets.

The Motorcycle Bundle includes the X6, a heavy-duty clamp, an Invisible Selfie Stick, an Xtreme Battery, and more.

The camera’s screen is a 2.32-inch OLED rated at 1200 nits, and the battery is rated at 140 minutes of 8K30 360 video.

The X6 uses Wi-Fi 6 for wireless transfer and USB-C 3.0 for wired transfer, and features an AI model called PanoMind, which assembles a highlight edit from the footage on the camera and sends the finished clips to the Insta360 app.
