Sena Phantom XB Helmet First Look: Bass-Tuned Audio for $599

Sena has introduced the Phantom XB, a bass-tuned version of its Phantom smart helmet, with an MSRP of $599. The main difference between the XB and the standard model is the Extreme Bass audio package, which includes 2nd-generation HD speakers and a specialized acoustic chamber. The XB’s audio package adds about an ounce to the weight of the standard Phantom.

The acoustic chamber is built into both the shell and the padding, and the cheek pads are reshaped to channel sound from the speakers toward the rider’s ears, reinforcing low frequencies. Sena calls this arrangement the Pulse Drive Matrix, which transforms low-frequency signals into a physical experience by optimizing the contact points between the chamber and the rider. The XB also features Mesh Intercom 3.0 and WAVE Intercom on Bluetooth 5.3, with a range of 1.2 miles in open terrain and a claimed talk time of 35 hours.

The helmet has a composite fiberglass shell, a multi-layer EPS liner, and an intermediate oval head shape. The face shield is scratch-resistant and Pinlock-ready, with a retractable tinted sun shield behind it. The Sena Phantom XB has a five-year warranty on helmet integrity and electronics, and the box includes a helmet bag and a USB-C cable.

The helmet is available in sizes S-XXL and weighs 3.8 pounds in medium size with DOT certification. The price of the Sena Phantom XB is $599 MSRP.
