Ford Motor Company has filed a patent for a new ‘show off’ mode that could debut in future Ford vehicles, according to Ford Authority. The patent, filed on July 16, 2024, and published on July 21, 2026, under serial number 12689676, suggests a customizable activation sequence designed to turn heads when the owner approaches their car. The system would allow users to pre-set unique vehicle responses, ranging from a silent ‘stealth’ mode that does nothing upon approach to an attention-grabbing ‘show off my car’ mode that could trigger flashing lights, the sound system, or even the engine. The lights could pulse in custom patterns, while the audio system could play any track the owner chooses. The mode could also be configured to activate for passersby, ensuring the car puts on a performance even when the owner isn’t present. Ford emphasized that patent filings are standard business practice to protect intellectual property and do not confirm future product plans. The company stated that customer needs will always drive development and marketing decisions, regardless of what patents outline.
