After a two-year break, the hit motoring show The Grand Tour is returning without its original trio of Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond. The reboot drops on September 4 exclusively on Prime Video, helmed by fresh faces James Engelsman, Thomas Holland, and Francis Bourgeois. Engelsman and Holland, known for their Throttle House YouTube channel, will headline the new season, joined by 26-year-old trainspotter Francis Bourgeois. The revamp promises the same irreverent spirit but with “new knobs,” according to the show’s social media announcement. The Grand Tour’s original hosts signed off in fall 2024 after nearly a decade on air. Fan reactions are split: some are willing to give the rebooted series a try, while others argue the magic of the original trio is irreplaceable. Clarkson, May, and Hammond’s long-running chemistry and decades-long relationship with viewers set a high bar, especially given Top Gear’s struggles post-departure. Engelsman and Holland, however, bring years of automotive content experience and established rapport, making them a plausible fit. Despite Amazon’s minimal promotion so far, the debut is still weeks away, leaving room for marketing pushes and teasers ahead of the premiere.
